Review Process
Every submission undergoes double-anonymised (double-blind) peer review, where the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other throughout. The full procedure, including how submissions from Editorial Board members are handled, is set out in the Peer Review Policy.
- Acknowledgement — receipt of the manuscript is confirmed within three working days.
- Editorial screening — the editorial office checks scope, completeness, and originality, including a plagiarism check.
- Double-blind peer review — the manuscript is assigned to a handling editor and sent to at least two independent reviewers from outside the author’s institution, each of whom declares any conflict of interest.
- Editorial decision — the handling editor recommends accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject; a third reviewer is consulted if reports conflict; the final decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief.
- Revision — authors revise and resubmit as required, with anonymised reviewer reports provided alongside the decision.
- Acceptance & copyright declaration — accepted authors sign a copyright declaration consistent with the journal’s Open Access licensing.
- Publication — the article appears in the next scheduled quarterly issue.
Book reviews and editorials are subject to editorial review rather than external peer review, and are identified as such at publication.
Copyright & Licensing
- Authors retain full copyright of their work without restriction.
- Authors grant the journal a non-exclusive right of first publication; the work is simultaneously licensed under CC BY 4.0.
- Authors may deposit any version of their article (submitted, accepted, or published) in institutional or subject repositories, on personal websites, or on scholarly networking platforms, at any time and without embargo.

All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection tools. Any submission with a similarity index and AI content above 10% — excluding standard phrases and correctly cited material — will be rejected without review. Authors must clearly declare if AI tools were used in preparing the manuscript; the core analysis, arguments, and scholarly insights must remain original and human-authored. See the full Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement for the complete policy on authorship, misconduct, and corrections.
